Cheesy Conundrum Casserole
Melty, cheesy goodness is waiting for you with this delicious cheese casserole!
Ingredients
- 1 (16oz) Mostaccioli or Penne Pasta
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 3 cups half & half or Milk
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1-1/4 cups Sartori Shredded Parmesan
- 4 cups Vern's Shredded Mozzarella
- 1 cup Vern's Shredded Mild Cheddar
- 1/8 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 3/4 lb Cubed Ham
- 24oz Mixed Vegetables (Carrots, Broccoli, Peas, etc.)
Directions
- Cook pasta in a large saucepan according to package directions
- Drain and rinse with cold water
- Return pasta to large saucepan
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat
- Stir in flour
- Cook for 2 minutes, whisking constantly
- Gradually whisk in half and half and salt
- Simmer for 5 minutes, whisking frequently
- Pour sauce over the pasta, add ham and veggies
- Toss well
- Combine cheeses
- Layer half of the pasta mixture in a 9'x13' baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray
- Top with half of the cheese mixture
- Repeat layering with remaining pasta and cheese
- Sprinkle with ground nutmeg
- Bake, uncovered at 400° for 35 minutes or until cheese is golden brown
