Vern’s Shipping & Return Policy
Shipping Policy:
At Vern’s, we take great care in making sure your order arrives in the best possible condition. Due to the perishable nature of our products, we offer shipping via UPS 2nd Day Air, UPS Next Day Air, and Spee-Dee Delivery (where available).
Shipping Schedule:
We ship orders Monday through Wednesday only to avoid weekend transit delays.
- Orders placed before 12:00 pm CST on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday will ship the same day.
- Orders placed after 12:00 pm CST will ship the following business day.
- Orders placed after 12:00 pm Wednesday will ship the following Monday.
Out-of-Stock Items:
If an item is out of stock:
- We will contact you via email or phone to offer a substitution.
- If we do not hear back from you by 12:00 pm CST, we will cancel the out-of-stock item, issue a refund, and ship the remainder of your order.
Tracking:
You will receive a tracking number once your order has shipped. Please allow until the end of the shipping day for tracking to become active, as the carrier must scan the package into their system.
Responsibility Post-Shipment:
Once a package leaves our facility, we rely on our shipping partners to complete delivery. While we pack each order with care, Vern’s is not responsible for delays, mishandling, or damage incurred during transit.
Spee-Dee Delivery:
Spee-Dee Delivery is available for select Midwest states. If eligible, this option will appear at checkout.
Spee-Dee delivers to parts of:
- Wisconsin
- Illinois
- Iowa
- Minnesota
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
- Nebraska
- Kansas
- Missouri
Please note:
- Spee-Dee does not guarantee delivery dates.
- If shipping to an apartment or large complex, ensure the building accepts Spee-Dee deliveries.
Incorrect Shipping Information / Missing Shipments:
Please double-check your shipping information before placing your order.
We are not responsible for:
- Incorrect or incomplete addresses (e.g., missing apartment number or wrong zip code)
- Refused packages
- Packages marked as delivered but reported missing
If a package is returned to us:
- No refund will be issued.
- The shipment can be resent with additional shipping charges.
- If replacement of perishable items is required, additional product charges will apply.
Damage During Transit:
If your package is damaged in transit:
- Do not discard any part of the shipment (including the packaging).
- Contact us immediately at 920-849-7717 or info@vernscheese.com.
- Email at least 6 photos showing:
o Damaged product
o Inner and outer packaging
o Shipping label
We will review your photos and determine if a claim with UPS can be filed. Please note, UPS evaluates claims on a case-by-case basis and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Weather Conditions:
Weather delays may affect transit times and void any delivery guarantees.
To protect your order during warmer months:
- We automatically include coolers and ice packs with perishable shipments.
- Additional shipping charges may apply.
We reserve the right to restrict shipping methods during extreme weather conditions to ensure product integrity.
Return Policy:
For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on perishable items.
